Veedersburg—Mrs. Connie Mae Halpern, 35, of San Diego, Calif., a former Fountain County resident, died at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 21 at her home in San Diego. She had been ill for some time.

 Born May 14, 1937, near Veedersburg, she was the daughter of Ralph E. and Bernice Hanna Vaughan. She was married to Dr. Samuel E. Halpern, who survives.

  She was a graduate of Kingman High and Indiana University at Bloomington.
  A resident of San Diego for eight years, she had taught school for the past four years. She was a member of the Episcopal Church in San Diego.

  Other survivors include two sons, Daniel Matthew and Evan Andrew, both at home; her parents of Veedersburg; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Morris and Mrs. Alice Swaim, both of Indianapolis; a brother, Richard E. Vaughan of Covina, Calif.; her grandfather, Cleve Hanna of Veedersburg Route 4; three nieces and a nephew.

  Services will be Friday at the Mitchell and Merkey Funeral Home in San Diego. Burial will be in San Diego.
  The family requests that memorials be in the form of contributions to the cancer society in care of Mrs. Ruth Cates of Kingman Route 1.
